Kohkaew Nirut has been appointed Director of the Group’s subsidiary in Thailand. He takes over from Mickael Chauvin. Kohkaew Nirut has an MBA from Mahidol University in Bangkok. He was previously Managing Director of Phoenix Contact and has held a variety of leadership roles for 25 years in the field of services and industry.

Mickael Chauvin, who has a PhD in economics, has been appointed Director of development and marketing of Institut de Soudure Group in Asia. His knowledge of the Group and of Asia, where he has held different positions since June 1997, notably Commercial attaché at the embassy of France in Bangkok and then Managing Director of Centre d’Innovation Franco-Thai, will be a precious asset for the Group's development in the region.

Institut de Soudure Thailand has had a new H2S testing laboratory in Bangplee since June 2016. This ultra-modern laboratory primarly meets the needs of all industrial firms in the oil and gas sector (operators, engineers and manufacturers). This H2S testing laboratory is one of few in the world and it allows Institut de Soudure Thailand to offer its services to companies all over the world, notably to carry out NACE standardised tests such as HIC, SCC with a gas mix (NACE TM0177, NACE MR0175, NACE TM0284) and specific tests according to specifications

Since 2008, Institut de Soudure Thailand has also offered a wide range of services for industry to control industrial risks thanks to inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT) and destructive testing and analysis services in the fields of metals and composites. Institut de Soudure Thailand implements innovative inspection and testing techniques to validate equipment manufacturing and ensure in-service monitoring. Their experts also work on finding the causes of failures and prolonging the in-service life of equipment.

Institut de Soudure Thailand also develops training courses in phase with industrial needs.
