Recently at the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics, the first generation MSc candidates successfully defended their master theses.

These candidates are the first graduates in advanced composites and robotics in Macedonia.

Some of the master theses' titles were:

  • Experimental research of mechanical properties of composites produced by Filament Winding technology using NOL rings
  • Process of slitting narrow width unidirectional prepreg tapes (slit tapes) to be used in automated placement technology
  • Offset of 3D curve on surface represented as mesh of triangles
  • Structural features of the prepreg making machines and their impact in production of high quality unidirectional prepreg
  • Look Ahead algorithms in the process of generating speed profile

In September, most of the graduates would deepen their research as PhD candidates in the post-graduate program organized together by IACR and the University Goce Delcev. By uniting the capacities of the two institutions, all coming master and PhD candidates would have the opportunity to do their research in laboratories that have all necessary equipment and software to do experimental research and testing in advanced composites processing, technology development, prototyping and parts manufacturing, renowned university professors, and most up to date scientific library.

All of the graduates at IACR are employed as product engineers at one of the leading composite machine manufacturers, one of the leading advanced composite equipment manufacturers that continuously supports  its team expertise development by subsidizing employees’ graduate and post-graduate education.
