Jiangxi commenced US$ 712 million wind power projects

The projects total installed capacity will reach 480000 kilowatts with an investment of about 4.3 billion Yuan (US$ 712 million).

According to the relevant responsible person from Provincial Energy Bureau, these wind power projects have been included in China national third batch of approved wind power projects plan. And most of them are mountain wind power projects with an average elevation of 1000 meters above the sea level.

These projects construction condition is more complex with relatively longer construction period. According to the provincial plan, these wind power projects will be completed and put into operation in the second half of 2014. And according to the plan, these projects will be lay a solid foundation for the goal to make Jiangxi province a million kilowatts province by the end of 12th 5 years plan.

Under China existing technological level, the developable provincial wind energy resources are about 2300000 kilowatts. Due to the combined effects of topography and climate, the province's wind energy resources are mainly focused on the Poyang Lake region with enriched wind, especially the 70 km long Lake Road from Hukou to Songmenjiang, and Jishan mountains.

At present, Jiangxi province has been focusing on the development of wind energy resources in Poyang Lake area.
