JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
JEC Europe 2015 - Inxide, in cooperation with Swerea-SICOMP and Klippan Safety, has developed a lightweight solution for a cargo barrier for passenger cars based on the Inxide patented X-TECH technology that replaces traditional steel solutions.
The design is based on a reinforcing skeleton of continuous fibres overmoulded with a polyurethane matrix, giving a 25% weight saving compared to the current solution. The innovative X-TECH technology ensures that the required loads can be absorbed and distributed throughout the cargo barrier to fulfil all static and dynamic requirements for an application in a passenger car interior. With the Inxide solution, the designer is given the design freedom to create unique cargo barrier designs. Aspects such as legal requirements, safety, rear view, and ease of use for customers can all be met while creating a stylish interior cargo barrier using Inxide’s X-TECH technology. Meeting the business case target is often a challenge. Cargo barriers for passenger cars are usually accessories and volumes are not enough to justify injection moulding tooling. Using the above-described technology with X-TECH and S-RIM provides a cost-efficient solution for future cargo barrier development.More information: www.inxide.seBooth: C10
