Derby business man and managing director of epm: technology Graham Mulholland takes top honors at the Insider ‘Made in the Midlands’ awards held on Tuesday 1st November 2011. The event held in Coventry was a celebration of the Midlands contribution to manufacturing in the UK.

Given that manufacturing is now back on the national agenda it’s a timely opportunity to start the ‘Made in the Midlands’ awards.

Mulholland, 37 won top honors with Manufacturing Personality of the year award.

Manufacturing company of the year award went to AGA Range master Group.

Mulholland said “We must do all we can to support UK manufacturing, it was a great night which the epm team along with chosen guests enjoyed.  When the compere Michael Portillo made the announcement of personality of the year, it was a great surprise.”

epm: technology which supplies carbon fibre components to Aerospace, Defence and F1 customers is on a roll.  This continues this week with an exhibition at the NEC Composites Engineering Show.

Mulholland continued “It takes a huge amount of energy to do what we do and who we do it for.  The products we make are also rarely recognized as they are generally making all our customers products better, therefore to win an award is fantastic. Although at epm: technology we don’t have just one personality we have 80, which makes coming to work easy.”

Mulholland concluded “With all the bad news Derby’s manufacturers have recently received it’s great to wave a flag and lead our market forward.”
