JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
The 1st Mastergel International Training on RTM Light took place between November 28 and 30, in Joinville (Brazil). Organized by the gelcoat manufacturer and distributor of raw materials and equipment Mastergel, the course was conducted by Jose Manuel Bey, Spanish professional with more than twenty years of experience in the RTM process.
“We emphasize the practice, especially regarding the details about the construction of the molds, a crucial step for the success of the RTM Light”, said Horst Peterhans, technical advisor of Mastergel. The company is an exclusive distributor in Brazil of Composites Integration, the largest manufacturer of equipment for RTM in the world. “In addition to the tools, the participants were able to make some parts, such as a car roof rack and a fairing”, he said.
More than thirty people attended the training, and most of them were representatives of companies operating in the transportation, construction and leisure sectors. “They are professionals who are familiar with the RTM Light process, seeking tips to improve the performance of their production lines”.
Distributor’s role For Rosi Ana Peterhans Espindola, director of Mastergel, distributors of equipment and raw materials should continuously invest in the training of their clients. So much so that Mastergel currently counts on an area comprising 400 m² exclusively dedicated to the simulation of composite molding technologies – in addition to the RTM Light, the company’s clients are able to repeat, on a small scale, the conventional RTM processes, casting (synthetic marble), spray-up and hand lay-up.
“The distributor has the responsibility to help technically prepare its clients. Always, of course, relying on the key participation of the manufacturers of equipment and raw materials”.
In 2012, Mastergel plans to organize two workshops on RTM Light, as well as courses focused on other composite-processing technologies.
