The composites manufacturer announces the appointment of Nick Cowley as its Group Managing Director.

Nick joins the MCL group to help continue the company’s strategic growth in the utilities, construction and infrastructure markets in the UK and overseas.

He brings a wealth of experience from a background in engineering and science, with an MBA from Leeds University Business School.

His previous roles have seen him living and working abroad with a variety of responsibilities in operational and commercial activities – from establishing new manufacturing facilities in Eastern Europe to developing and executing marketing plans in the Middle East.

The announcement follows a successful 12 months for the Group with a contract win from Western Power Distribution and ambitious plans to export its engineered composite products to Australia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

Nick Cowley said: "I joined MCL because I wanted to be part of a real innovator in materials technology. MCL’s success is due to the creativity, drive and pure passion it has for its industry, and I felt that I could help steer the company to even greater success."

Bob Moore, Group Executive Chairman, added: "Nick’s appointment marks an important year for MCL, as his is a newly-created role that will allow us all to broaden our ambitions and take the business to the next stage in its story. His background in engineering and business at home and abroad makes him a fantastic addition to our team and we’re looking forward to the future of composites manufacturing at MCL under his leadership.”
