Mitsui Chem expand polypropylene composites production in North America

Mitsui Chem and its subsidiary Prime Polymer announced that with the growing demand of automotive polypropylene (PP) composites, Mitsui Chem will increase the polypropylene composites with a newly added 14000 tons / year capacity production line in the United States of America.

In the basic strategy of 2011 annual business plan, Mitsui Chem has worked out a plan to promote the development of internationalization of the world's top competitive polypropylene automotive materials business.

Currently, Mitsui Chem has built polypropylene automotive composite materials production bases in 8 regions in the world (the United States, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, India, Thailand, and China). It will continue to strengthen and expand the production system.

Mitsui Chem subsidiary Advanced Composites in Ohio, the United States will build an annual capacity of 14000 tons polypropylene composite material production line. Thus its production capacity in the United States will be expanded to 268000 tons / year. The commercialized production is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Although the global financial crisis brought great trauma to the North American auto industry, but now everything is gradually recovering, there will be a great development space in the future.
