JEC Europe 2014 - Formax, a manufacturer of carbon fibre and speciality reinforcements, is building an automotive facility alongside the company's UK headquarters.

The new 4,600 m² site will be dedicated to producing carbon multiaxial fabrics specifically for meeting the requirements of high-volume automotive applications.

During the past 5 years, Formax has established itself as the leading supplier of structural multiaxials in the automotive sector and already works closely with Europe's most successful Tier 1 manufacturers and OEM's.

This latest investment and subsequent site expansion follows the recent launch of a number of new automotive textiles. These include aFORM, a specialised +/- 45 material ranging from 150 -300 gsm in weight for Class A finishes; reFORM, a recycled materials range produced from carbon wastage; and a specialist Drape Simulation software that allows customers to optimise their fabrics performance by identifying creasing and permeability issues.
