A new generation of fire-resistant composites

JEC Europe 2012 - High mechanical properties and unique fire resistance are the key characteristics ensuring that basalt fibres are more and more used in a world with increasingly strict fire regulations.

The fact that basalt fibres retain their integrity at elevated temperatures is a major asset. By combining this fibre with a resin that doesn't compromise on the fire behaviour, a unique combination has been found.

At the JEC 2012, Basaltex will present new solutions based on basalt fibres that have been developed together with partners. These solutions combine fire resistance with high mechanical performance. They are intended for high-volume markets which require high fire resistance, such as railway, construction, offshore applications, etc.
