New laboratory at the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics

JEC Europe 2012 - In May 2012, the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics will open a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art machines for the composites industry.

The laboratory will include several advanced technologies such as an automated fibre and tape placement machine, a filament winding machine, prepreg making equipment, equipment for slitting/rewinding and hydrostatic pressure testing. The institute focuses on scientific research in the field of advanced composites and the automation of composite production methods, applying the results of its research and development activities to the specific requirements of the composites industry. The institute offers services for prototyping, manufacturing and designing composite parts using fibre and tape placement machines and filament winding technology.


The IACR, in accordance with the international law on higher education, offers certified postgraduate studies. The specificity of the Masters degree is the combination of the two research areas: composites and robotics. The IACR is one of a kind in Southeastern Europe.
