Norplex-Micarta invests in new Instron machine

Norplex-Micarta has announced the addition of a Model 4486 Instron machine to their quality assurance laboratory.

An Instron machine is a computer controlled unit designed to evaluate the mechanical properties of materials.  The machine is equipped with pneumatic jaws with a 60,000 pound load capacity.  The Instron has the ability to test strength and modulus physical properties on sheets up to 1.125″ thick and tubes with a maximum OD of 1.40″.  It is also equipped with an environmental oven having a temperature range of -100º F to 600º F.
