During 2012 AOPA Shanghai International General Aviation Show held recently, Mr. Juergen Schluemer, Oberaigner Aerospace has shared the development of Oberaigner new business aircraft and hope to find business partners in China.

According to Mr. Juergen Schluemer, the Oberaigner newly developed aircraft is a completely new idea as the airplane is completely made of carbon fiber materials. In the mean time, a new type of engine will be applied which is cheaper and lighter. Oberaigner new Aircraft has 8 seats, two engines with 150 horse power.
The prototype aircraft will be completed by the end of 2015. And the airworthy certification will take two years so the ideal mass production would be started from 2017. This is Oberaigner’s time line, according to Mr. Juergen Schluemer.

Oberaigner can use a new aircraft and a new idea to open up a new market. At present, all the other airplanes have a history of over 40 years. The technology of aircrafts they are selling is 30 to 40 years old.

Oberaigner used new materials, new technology, because carbon fiber is lighter than that of aluminium so the Oberaigner aircraft is lighter. The aircraft engines used are not very expensive. Compared to current business aircrafts, this new plane reduced fuel consumption.

“Chinese market potential is tremendous. This is one of the reasons why we try to establish contact with the Chinese enterprises. We need to study the various possibilities for cooperation. In 2017 or 2018 we may start to sell our aircrafts to the Chinese market. Or if the Chinese enterprises are interested in manufacturing of the new aircraft, we may consider producing some of the aircraft spare parts in China.”
