Owens Corning has been honored for its commitment to quality with the highly respected "Partners of Choice" Award from David Weekley Homes, the third largest for-profit, privately-held U.S. home builder. As the recipient of this elite recognition for the third consecutive year, Owens Corning achieved an "A" rating representing world-class excellence in Quality.
David Weekley Homes' interactive feedback program is designed to measure, evaluate, compare, and rate 150 supplier's Quality and Service performance on a quarterly basis as part of its National Trading Partner Survey. Ultimately, the National Trading Partner Survey is designed to challenge manufacturing partners to actively manage the supply chain to ensure everyone efficiently delivers high quality products at competitive prices seamlessly to their customer.
"Owens Corning's recognition as a Partner of Choice award recipient is particularly meaningful because it reflects an 'A' quarterly evaluation over the last 12 months from more than 600 David Weekley Homes team members," noted Julian Francis, vice president and general manager, Residential Insulation. "There is no higher achievement for Owens Corning than delivering results and exceeding expectations for our customers like David Weekley Homes."
Of approximately 150 companies surveyed, only six were recognized by receiving an "A" award for either quality or service. With competition across other Fortune 500 companies, this award for the third year in a row exemplifies Owens Corning's commitment to providing customers with products and solutions that differentiate them in the marketplace.
"Owens Corning achieving an 'A' in Quality for three consecutive years is a remarkable accomplishment," said Bill Justus, Vice President of Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes and chief architect behind the interactive evaluation program. "This is especially true when you consider the thousands of transactions that have occurred over this period between our companies. Our friends at Owens Corning have proven through their actions to be world-class at delivering quality products to our company."
To calculate the award, each supplier's numeric scores on a one to 10 scale are averaged and then assigned an alpha ranking from "A" to "F" in 20 percent increments relative to its standing among Weekley's other national trading partners. Only suppliers maintaining an "A, A" ranking for both Quality and Service or an "A" ranking in either Quality or Service are eligible for the respected "Partners of Choice" Award.
