Panel Systems has been chosen as the UK distributor for ThermHex, an innovative new polypropylene honeycomb material, suitable for a wide variety of applications.
Already well established as a material of choice across mainland Europe for applications ranging from automotive, truck bodies, the marine industry, OEM, industrial equipment and caravan markets, Thermhex is set to become the material of choice for such applications in the UK.Thermhex is an extremely strong, lightweight material that is available in a range of standard sizes from Panel Systems. The company is also able to supply composite panels based on Thermhex, along with bespoke sizing and machining to meet specific customer requirements. Our fabrication and machining capabilities mean we can take the base material and bond and machine it, as required, to meet customer specific applications.”Thermhex is available is a range of different core densities to suit specific project requirements, with core thicknesses from 3.5mm to 30mm. Standard sheet size is 2500mm x 1250mm with the capability to increase this to 6000mm x 1400mm. The material is suitable for bonding to a range of thin facing materials, such as metals, plastics, timber and decorative laminate to offer the multiple benefits of aesthetics, strength and lightness.Manufactured in Germany in an innovative, patented process which ensures rigidity in terms of its mechanical strength, as well as stability, Thermhex is also resistant to chemicals and moisture. Thermhex is 100% recyclable, as part of ensuring ethical and sustainable sourcing of materials.Panel Systems offers a structural bonding and fabrication service to manufacture sandwich panels with Thermhex as the core. CNC routers with a bed size of 3600mm x 1500mm allows production of flexible designs and panel shapes.Panel Systems offers a comprehensive CAD design service, which includes accepting customers’ own drawings in a range of file formats and producing a workable panel, product or component to meet bespoke requirements.Thermhex will also be used within Panel Systems’ Revostage product to further enhance its properties of strength, lightness in weight and durability.
