JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
Professor and Architect Mark Goulthorpe, of the MIT Department of Architecture, confirmed as guest keynote speaker for the Future of Composites in Construction.
Polin Waterparks and Pool Systems was founded in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1976 and has become one of the world's leading companies in the design, manufacture and installation of water parks, water slides and water-play attractions.
Polin is intimately involved in all the projects it takes on, guiding each step from concept to completion. The company has been a pioneer in the advancement and application of closed-mould manufacturing technologies for water-slide development.
Conversion to resin transfer mouldingSince 2006, Polin has converted more than 95% of its annual glass fibre production to resin transfer moulding (RTM). It now produces RTM-moulded bowls and slides for individual and family rides. These products are top-of-the-line in terms of current glass fibre composite manufacturing.
Polin has been producing translucent RTM water slides since 2007. Customers love these translucent slides, due to their enriched visual impact. They are undoubtedly the most spectacular slides around, with a smooth, glassy finish on both sides, in addition to many other advantages.
Polin also focuses on its unique patented Natural Light Effect (NLE), Special Pattern Effects (SPE) RTM and Translucent RTM Waterslides technologies. These special enhancements require no special equipment for the customer. They are based entirely on the materials used to create the tunnels, which allow sunlight to penetrate the composite and create dynamic, ever-changing light designs inside the tunnels as guests slide through them. The special lighting effects are as appealing on the outside of the slides as they are for guests on the inside.
A wide offering
Polin features a wide range of slides, including signature rides such as the patented King Cobra®, Magic Spheres®, Spheres, Magi Cone, Space Shuttle and Surf Safari®.
Major water parks in AsiaPolin has conducted over 2,000 water park projects in 82 countries over the world. These range from small projects to the world’s largest ones. Over the past 12 months, the Asian market has become increasingly important to Polin. The new Cartoon Network Amazone water park currently under construction in idyllic Bang Saray, close to Pattaya, on the East Coast of Thailand, is worth mentioning. Scheduled to open in 2013, this park will feature signature attractions including a gigantic family wave pool, a winding adventure river, speed-racing slides, family raft slides and one of the world’s largest interactive water-play fortresses for kids. The company is also working on four other key water parks in Asia. In China, major projects include the Great Mall of China (GMOC) indoor water park in Beijing and the Caribbean Island Water park in Yantai. In Indonesia, the Bugis Water park opened on May 27. Plus, Malaysia’s Escape Water park has been a successful project with many signature rides, including the King Cobra®.
These newly opened markets for Polin represent a direction for growth as the company continues to expand and focus on the technologies that its customers are demanding.
Polin is committed to providing the best-quality product and service by investing in continuous research and development, and to further expanding its L-RTM line while introducing new signature rides and innovations.
