JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
Polinox integrated the chain of suppliers which participated in the development of the Contemporary Bank Project, name of the sustainable ATM created by Edra Equipamentos, one of the Brazilian leading developers of solutions for the financial sector.
Largest manufacturer of peroxides in South America, Polinox supplied the Brasnox PF®, a methyl ethyl ketone formulation free of phthalates, which are considered potentially harmful to the environment. The product was used in the manufacture of composite parts, a type of high performance plastic that gives shape to the walls and ceiling of the new ATM.
“The Contemporary Bank Project ratifies the environmentally friendly profile of composite materials,” says Roberto Pontifex, director of Polinox. In addition to the peroxides free of phthalates, the unsaturated polyester resin adopted by Edra Equipamentos – Biopoli®, by Elekeiroz – is derived partially from renewable sources, such as fatty acids from seeds of oilseed plants, and post-consumer recycled raw materials, including PET bottles. The ATM also has other special features, such as the use of solar energy and a collector of rainwater to irrigate a garden on the roof.
About Polinox Polinox is one of the few representatives in the global composites industry to hold the ISO 14001 environmental certification – obtained in 2010.
