Polynt composites (EMEA) announces new trade names for carbon fibre reinforced materials

The carbon fiber Compounds are a family of products based on vinylester resins or epoxy resins reinforced with various types of carbon fiber, which gives the exceptional material of rigidity and resistance characteristics.

As a response of the increased market interest in Carbon Fibre Reinforced materials and as a consequent further move following the recent developments activities Polynt Composites has registered trade names for the various grades of its CF-reinforced composites.

Polynt Composites has introduced the entire CF product range, which consists of:   

  •          Polynt-SMCarbon®: Sheet Molding Compounds reinforced with carbon fibre

Polynt-SMCarbon is a thermosetting composite material reinforced with carbon fibers cut with lengths ranging from 12 to 50 mm. It is produced in sheets with a width 1000 mm and 2-3 mm thick vinyl ester resin or epoxy resin and packaged in rolls or boxes according to customer requirements. Polynt-SMCarbon is particularly suitable for compression molding and autoclave of flat pieces of medium/large dimensions.
The main features of Polynt-SMCarbon are:
• new aesthetic surfaces cut fiber)
• versatility of the technology (compression molding and autoclave)
• ability to modify and optimize the product for specific requests
 

  •          Polynt-BMCarbon®: Bulk Molding Compounds reinforced with carbon fibre

Polynt-BMCarbon is a thermosetting composite material reinforced with carbon short fibers with lengths 6mm, 12mm. It is produced in granular homogeneous mass with vinylester resin or epoxy resin and packaged in bags. Polynt-BMCarbon is particularly suitable for compression molding transfer and injection. Compared to the most common thermoplastic polymers Polynt-BMCarbon is a thermosetting material with superior technical features and performance:
• high mechanical properties in terms of stiffness and strength dimensional stability at high temperatures due to the intrinsic nature of thermosetting materials
• chemical and weathering resistance
• countless possibilities for customization to specific requests
 

  •          Polynt-RECarbon® : REcycled molding Compounds reinforced with recycled carbon fleece

Polynt-RECarbon is the family of composite materials reinforced with recycled carbon fiber fabric and with different surface weights (200 or 400 gr/m2). It is produced in sheets with a width 1000 mm with vinyl ester resin or epoxy resin and packaged in rolls. These materials have been developed in response to the growing need for sustainabilit by reusing and recycling of carbon fiber waste from various sources. Polynt-RECarbon can be used as semi structural material or veil for optimized surfaces, and is suitable for compression molding and autoclave.
 

  •          Polynt-UDCarbon®: UniDirectional molding Compounds reinforced with unidirectional carbon fibre

Polynt-UDCarbon is the family of composite materials reinforced with continuous carbon fibers and aligned, characterized by extreme mechanical properties and high stiffness on the axis 0 ° and you can combine it with Polynt-SMCarbon.
Thanks to its high mechanical properties (modulus and strength), Polynt-UDCarbon is used in a purely structural applications in the automotive and industrial sectors.
 

  •          Polynt-TXTCarbon®: TeXTure molding Compounds reinforced with carbon fibre fabrics (plain/twill)

Polynt-TXTCarbon is the family of composite materials reinforced with carbon fiber prepregs developed for the market. They are supplied in rolls and available based on vinylester or epoxy resin systems. Polynt-TXTCarbon are employed for low pressure molding or autoclave obtaining laminates characterized by good surface aesthetics, good mechanical properties, high stiffness and strength combined with reduced weights and short polymerization times in the version with vinylester resin.
