Following the appointment of Paul Batson as Managing Director at Master Abrasives, he has now announced a strategic restructure of the sales and marketing team.

The changes will take place in February 2014 when Master will be welcoming a new member to the management team, as well as developing the roles of existing team members.

The restructure includes a new position of Business Development Manager, which has been accepted by Andy Wright, to focus on the development of new business opportunities within specific market segments, such as aerospace. Andy joined the company in 1991 and during his time he has served as a Sales Co-ordinator, Technical Sales Representative, National Distribution Manager and most recently as Customer Service Manager, giving him valuable experience and knowledge in commercial and sales activities.

Andy Wright will continue in the role as customer service manager, with the support from Andrew Davidson who has been promoted to the role of Assistant Customer Service Manager. Having been with Master for 15 years, Andrew is now looking forward to the new challenge. He will carry out this role from the office on a day to day basis and the customer service team will report to him.

After 2 years of gaining experience in the internal sales and marketing departments, Abigail Adams has been appointed to the position of Marketing Executive. Abigail will now focus solely on initiating and developing the company’s marketing strategies and activities.

Also joining Master Abrasives’ management team in the position of Applications Engineering Manager is Ian Meredith. Ian has an excellent engineering background, having worked at Timken where he completed his engineering apprenticeship. He also has experience from his previous roles in the Diamond Tool industry and more recently at Saint-Gobain Abrasives where he gained experience in sales, product engineering, training and overseas application engineering. He will be working from the office in Daventry alongside the internal and external sales team, providing them with support and focusing directly on key accounts. His focus will be on the precision product range, primarily Master and Meister branded products.

The new Managing Director, Paul Batson, explains: “My strategy is to have a strong, solid team who will focus on identifying customers’ needs and ensuring that we satisfy them. The new management team will drive business development in both existing and new accounts.”
