News International-French

12 Dec 2012

The conference organized in partnership with the EMC² Technocampus on December 11 in Nantes, brought more than 90 people who took part in this seminar and technical workshops.

The use of composite materials in the industry has increased considerably in recent years, whether in the aerospace, automotive or construction industries. In order to answer the constant demand, new processes need to be developed. The machining of a composite material is essentially constituted of the cutting of the fibers while trying not to generate superficial burns, peeling, or chipping.

Organized inside of the EMC² Technocampus with Benoît FURET from Nantes University, the day’s goal was to delve into the following, composite processing related themes: adjusting the processes, choosing the tools, water-jet cutting, robotization, as well as hygiene and safety measures. The conferences were held by industrials and scholars for example belonging to EMC², Airbus, AIC Composites, Flow Corp or Capacités. This technical center in Nantes brings together firms from the regional composite network, as well as research institutes and higher education institutions.

7 conferences illustrated by 4 workshops

Following the success of the addition of workshops in the JEC conference on non-destructive testing methods, this concept was set up again during this seminar. After several technical conferences during the morning session, the participants were convened for four workshops and a visit of the technocampus.
