Tankwell and Flaxfield Europe introduce a composite tank container that is constructed with an innovative fiber reinforced vessel.

Tankwell is specialized in the production of the newest kind of tank containers. With business partner Flaxfield Europe they have introduced a composite tank container that is constructed with an innovative fiber reinforced vessel. This vessel is manufactured using a new one-step filament winding process. With Tankwell’s one-step manufacturing method an optimized ratio is achieved between the strength and low weight of the vessel. A ‘Swap Body’ tank container is created with the integral design of the optimized composite tank and a steel frame.

The Tankwell tank container is ADR/RID/CSC approved and is provided with an integrated temperature control system. This system is engineered by the Dutch company Huikeshoven and is based on Lantor’s heatable veil called the PowerSHEAT®. As PowerSHEAT® can be fully impregnated, the temperature control system is effective and contributes to the improved thermal performance.

The shipping and transport industry benefits from the significant weight reduction (up to 40%). Most interest in Tankwell is driven by the 3 percent fuel saving per transported cubic meter of product.
