Vietnam gave priority to wind power development

According to Vietnam Electric Power Development Plan in view of 2020 to 2030, Vietnam will give priority to the development of the renewable energy, especially the development of the wind power.

Vietnam will increase its renewable energy power generation national proportion rate from 3.5% accounts in 2010 to 4.5% in 2020, and to 6% by 2030.


At present, Vietnam only has one wind power project been put into operation. That wind farm is located in Sui Feng County, Binh Thuan Province. The project generating power is 120000 KWs.


According to Vietnam’s Plans, in the future, there will be 34 wind power projects to be built. In which, there are 24 projects are applying for investment permissions, and 9 projects are ongoing the projects feasibility studies.
