JEC World 2016 - Creaform, a provider of portable 3D measurement solutions, released the newest version of VXmodel, its scan-to-CAD software module which is integrated into VXelements, its proprietary software platform and application suite.

Optimized for 3D scan-based reverse engineering, VXmodel increases productivity and reduces the need for specific expertise or costly software licences while creating high-quality models for reverse engineering or 3D printing applications. Industrial designers and mechanical engineers can benefit from the new direct transfer to Solidworks functionality introduced in the latest release.

This addition enables streamlined transfer of data from the scan such as STL, NURBS and entities into Dassault Systèmes's CAD software in just a click. A great addition to Creaform’s line of 3D scanners, VXmodel combines simplicity with power in an intuitive and user-friendly software interface. It features all the tools needed to prepare the 3D scanner output for 3D printing, such as mesh editing, alignment, geometrical entities and cross-sections and NURBS surfaces.
