Xinwanxing achieved carbon fiber prepreg key technology industrialization

After two years of scientific and technological research and development, Sichuan Xinwanxing Carbon Fiber Composites, Ltd (Xinwanxing) prepreg production project has been officially put into operation.

Project formed an annual output 4,000,000 square meters of carbon fiber performance fabric fiber prepreg production capacity, the product performance has met the design target.

It is understood that the project has completed 140 million Yuan (US$ 23.33 million) fixed investment. Xinwanxing has applied high-performance carbon fiber fabric fiber prepreg key technologies developed in cooperation with Tsinghua University. It has filled China’s carbon fiber thermoplastic prepreg production technology gaps, the product quality has reached the international advanced level.

It is reported that the product is widely used in civil aircrafts, energy, automotive, wind energy, offshore platforms, transportation, medical devices, and high-end leisure sports goods and other emerging industries. During January to June this year, the project has achieved the output value of 260 million Yuan (US$ 36.67 million) and the annual output value is expected to reach 10 billion Yuan (US$ 166.67 million).

Xinwanxing is a professional high-tech private enterprise specialized in the production of composite materials. The company is located in Economic and Technological Development Zone Jiajiang County covers an area of 360,000 square meters with a total investment of 1.2 billion Yuan (US$ 200 million).

Xinwanxing imported the most advanced prepreg production line from Europe with an annual 10 million square meters output capacity of a variety of reinforcing fibers and fabric prepreg. The prepreg production line has also equipped with tensile testing machine, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, rheology meter, differential thermal analyzer, small test prepreg machine, autoclave and other quality testing and control equipment and instruments to ensure stable prepreg products performance and reliable quality. In addition, the company has established a variety of composite molding processes and methods, 1/3 prepreg production capacity can be used to produce resin matrix, prepreg and composite products for civil aircraft, energy, automotive, transportation, medical equipment, high-end sports and leisure goods, etc.
