Sponsored News - Chromaflo Technologies has developed an innovative solar reflective black color paste.

Color pastes play a vital role in most Thermoset applications, giving the necessary appearance and performance to bring a product to the market place successfully. Chromaflo Technologies, one of the largest independent global supplier of pigment and chemical dispersions for the thermoset composites and coatings industries offers a broad portfolio of specialized pigment pastes for unsaturated polyester, epoxy, polyurethane and plasticizer applications as well as chemical thickeners and inhibitor additives.

An innovative solar reflective black color paste has recently been added to Chromaflo’s CF-line, providing an extensive range of color pastes for unsaturated polyester applications. The solar reflective black color paste could replace traditional carbon black or iron oxide black. Cool-pigments, the more popular name for solar reflective pigments, are gaining more interest nowadays. For an increasing number of applications, the use and efficiency of this pigment in different colors is well recognized. Cooler surfaces improve not only living comfort but also reduce energy costs and have a positive effect on the durability of the composites application.

With its high Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) value, the solar reflective black pigment absorbs less heat than conventional black pigments, minimizing heat build-up and keeping surfaces cool. The solar reflective black color paste is based on an unsaturated polyester resin suitable for multiple polyester applications. The black color paste can also be used in combination with conventional color pastes for outstanding results. Due to the lower absorption of solar radiation, thermal stress will be reduced and durability will be enhanced.

The upcoming JEC World Composites Show (March 8-10, 2016 in Paris) is an excellent platform to meet colleagues in the field of composites. We look forward to assisting you with coloring your products at our booth M34, Pavilion 5A. You’ll be able to experience the heat difference between solar reflective black pigments and conventional black pigments with our solar reflective cabinet.
