JEC Group has decided to bring you an exclusive online experience by organizing the JEC Technical Conferences, in the form of 6 webinars.

On May 20th: Eco-design, sustainability and recycling: where are composites?

It goes without saying that all products now have to be manufactured in compliance with eco-design, sustainability and recycling requirements. The composites sector needs to be fully engaged in these areas. Lifecycle analysis is mostly in favour of composites, but for most users this is not enough. The sector now has to educate and show potential user companies that composites offer relevant and sustainable solutions.

On May 27th: Structural materials: Concrete and Composites: the perfect mix

With the shortage of sand, the lack of fresh water and the need to reduce CO2 emissions from cement production, organic-matrix composites offer a valuable alternative to replace steel as a reinforcement in new cement formulations. They also offer architects a shape freedom they never had before. Moreover, Composites are lighter and easier to install. Here is an update on the state of the art.

On June 3rd: Carbon: what materials and processes for the future?

The production and use of carbon fibre still offer many opportunities for improvement and cost reduction. The potential volumes required for H2 storage and transportation applications are enormous. From raw materials to real life, how can we improve these already incredible fibres? Through new precursors, new processes, new surface treatments, and new dimensions, for existing and new applications.

On June 10th: Artificial Intelligence – From design to production 4.0

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not the solution that will simply solve all our problems. On the contrary, selecting data, models and what is really important is not an easy task. But from fibre drawing, sizing, resin formulation to process parameters and non-destructive testing (NDT), AI can improve composite materials on an incredible scale. This session covers essential tools and case studies.

On June 17th: Fibre and nano-reinforced materials fill gaps in additive manufacturing

Composites are in essence additively produced. But in 3D printing, raw metals and plastics have got ahead. Once this has been said, we have witnessed extraordinary developments in recent years. Once again, composite materials provide solutions that other materials cannot handle. Additive manufacturing is not mature yet and composites can benefit from this technology.

On June 24th: Tutorials Biomimicry – Nature shows us the most effective solutions

Life appeared on Earth at least 3.5 billion years ago. Engineers have a lot to learn from Mother Nature’s long experience of trial and error. It is no coincidence that topological optimization converges on the same solutions that already exist around us. And many excellent examples have been or will be used in the field of composites, such as beetle carapaces, mother-of-pearl nanocomposite Structure , shrimp “smashers”, etc.

JEC Technical Conference programs offer presentations from the leaders of the industry, covering current challenges and trends in a wide variety of subjects.

Technical Conferences
Consisting of sessions delving into cutting-edge topics, with an end-user focus, the Technical conferences allow industrials and academics to showcase their know-how and talk about the latest technological innovations to a highly qualified international audience.

Speakers are provided a unique opportunity to come in contact with leaders from the whole composites value chain, and experts from all the major industries: Automotive, Aeronautics, Construction, Transportation, Marine, Oil & Gas, etc.

Each session features up to 5-6 presentations, interspersed with networking opportunities during which audience and speakers can interact freely and make key contacts. JEC technical conference programs aim to educate and provide the latest information, trends and experience feedbacks.

Participants have the possibility to improve their knowledge and seize the consequent networking opportunities to further their business. These programs are made in conjunction with JEC events: JEC World, JEC Korea, JEC Forum Chicago, and JEC Forum Bangkok events.
