Malama Composites earns USDA certified biobased product certification

The USDA certified biobased product label verifies that the product’s amount of renewable bio-based ingredients meets or exceeds levels set by USDA. Biobased products are finished or intermediate materials composed in whole or in significant part of agricultural, forestry, or marine ingredients.

Malama Composites Chairman and CEO, David Saltman said, “Our product is a zero emission material that uses a vegetable polyol and water as the sole blowing agent. Independent tests at Westpak demonstrated absolute structural and insulation parity with alternative, petroleum-based alternatives. From a lifecycle perspective, Pacific BioFoam can be easily ground up and used as a sweeping compound or soil amendment once it has served its original purpose.”
