Scandinavia's first and only Cross Country Rally team Pewano

Oxeon has presented cooperation with Scandinavia’s first and only Cross Country Rally team Pewano on the 14th of January 2011. Pewano is a Rally Raid team that has compete in the Dakar Rally and will compete in the World Cup in Cross Country Rally (FIA World Cup) in a car built with TeXtreme®.

”Pewano is an interesting and ambitious project. TeXtreme® suits their high-tech profile very well and we are happy to supply the project with our Spread Tow Fabric. With the help of TeXtreme® they have succeeded in building an ultra light but still sustainable car body that hopefully will contribute to many victories” says Andreas Martsman, Vice President at Oxeon.

The cars that the Pewano team drives are Pewano XC60 RR, which they develop and build themselves. The basis is Volvo XC60 cars which have been modified into a high-technology race car. In that development TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabric is a natural choice for the composites parts. The focus for Pewano is to build a winning team together with primarily Nordic companies, Scandinavian know-how and specialist expertise.

Pelle Wallentin, founder of Pewano, says: “Besides the Scandinavian focus we also want to contribute to a more sustainable motor sport at the same time as our ambition is to be at the top of the podium both in competition as in development, possibilities and innovation”.
The first race for the Pewano team will be the Abu Dhabi Dessert Challenge in April 2011.
