Composites in the spotlight in Asia Pacific RIM at the JEC Asia 2008

The first session of JEC Asia will be held October 22-24, 2008 at the prestigious Suntec fairground and conference centre in downtown Singapore. In response to the considerable growth (10-15% on average) of the composite sector in that region, this new platform will provide professionals with both technological information and economic content on global markets. Manufacturers use JEC’s international network and organisation which benefits from fifty years of experience in informing, promoting and organizing events around composite materials. This includes the JEC Composites Paris trade show – the world’s leading trade show for the composite industry – with more than 1,000 exhibitor companies, 25,000 visitors, 3 halls, and 43,000 sqm of surface area. During JEC Asia, each country is invited to promote its know-how and take the pulse of its competitive market.

MANUFACTURER CONCERNS: DOWN TO THE ESSENTIALS
JEC Asia looks as though it will get off to a most auspicious start. The event concerns all segments, with a special focus on the achievements of Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
It is supported by manufacturers of raw materials (resins and fibres), processors, machine manufacturers, distributors (Haining Chengrudan, En-Liang Enterprise, Taiwan Electric Insulator, etc.), the sector’s leading companies, and the companies on JEC’s board of directors: AGY, Advanced Composites Group Umeco, Chomarat, Cray Valley, CPC, DSM, Hexcel, Huntsman, Menzolit, OCV Reinforcements, Porcher Industries, and Sora. Small and medium-sized companies also have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about all the markets.

PARTICIPATION OF INSTITUTIONS AND THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY
JEC Asia also has the support of the scientific community, Grandes Ecoles network and universities, including NUS (National University of Singapore), A*STAR (Institute of Manufacturing Technology), ECB (Economic Development Board), BCA (Building and Construction Authority), STB and LTA (Land Transport Authority).

2008 THEME: “NEW APPLICATIONS, NEW COMPOSITE MARKETS”
The theme for JEC Asia 2008 is “New Applications, New Composite Markets”.
The session will include:
• technical lectures in which the sector’s major players present the latest advances in materials and processes;
• an Environment and Composite Recycling Symposium;
• end-user forums devoted to the main markets: aerospace, construction, marine, automotive, energy, sports & leisure;
• an exhibit of parts and products chosen for their technical and economic performance;
• an Innovation Programme with awards for the cream of the crop;
• business meetings to facilitate contacts and exchanges;
• two exhibit halls with stands and with pavilions by country or by professional field.

A REFERENCE PARTNER
JEC Asia is being organized in partnership with JEC Composites Magazine, the industry’s international trade publication that has grown the most over the past five years.

All in all, these coming events will constitute a full programme that is sure to make JEC Asia one of the best information and exchange platforms for better understanding of the local composite market.
