Verbundwerkstoff-Lösungen: Duroplaste und Thermoplaste
80,59€VAT excl.
After the huge success of its edition in English and in French, JEC releases the German version of « Composite Solutions: Thermosets and thermoplastics ».
"Verbundwerkstoff-Lösungen: Duroplaste und Thermoplaste" is a richly illustrated book designed to be a didactic tool. Around 300 diagrams and pictures make the text immediately understood to engineers, technicians, and designers.
The reader will find an exhaustive state of the art on thermosetting and short-fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites.
The book provides a thorough analysis of thermoplastic composites reinforced with long or continuous fibres, which have developed rapidly since 2000 and are edging out thermosetting materials somewhat.
The book also gives an overview of commonly used or more recent reinforcements, polymers, resins and, especially, prepreg semi-finished products. Its strong point is a complete analysis of about fifty technologies that have been or are being used in the business. It is meant to be pragmatic, to facilitate choice for decision-makers such as design/engineering departments and current or potential users. After all, these materials are of interest in a wide range of industries: automotive, railway, marine, electricity/electronics, building & construction, chemicals and textiles, sports and leisure, and more.
About the Author: Maurice Reyne worked as a research engineer in the aviation industry and then in oil research, before becoming the manager of an engineering consultancy firm. He is currently a self-employed consultant, a consultant to the French Ministry of Industry, and a lecturer in several different engineering schools. Throughout his career, Mr. Reyne has acquired widespread practical industrial experience owing to his visits to some 1,500 plants in about forty different countries, and particularly in the field of synthetic materials and the associated processes. He has written fifteen books for laymen on the subject and trained over 5,000 industrial managers. Here, he sums up his experience in the field of composites, giving a nearly exhaustive analysis of their converting processes.
