WALiD project to introduce thermoplastic composite materials into wind blade applications
A project kick off meeting was held over two days at The Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT).  This was an opportunity for all members of the consortium to meet and for various key points to be explained such as responsibilities of work package leaders and tasks for the next six months.

Hyosung carbon fiber factory starts production
Hyosung Co., Ltd. announced that its carbon fiber factory located in the southeast of Jeonju city, South Korea starts production. The annual output is expected to reach 2000 tons.

Aspiravi NV and Limburg win(d)t order 3 V112-3.0 MW and 9 V90-2.0 MW turbines for wind power plants in Flanders
Vestas is pleased to announce an order for 27 MW consisting of three units of the V112-3.0 MW and nine units of the V90-2.0 MW for wind power plants in Flanders, Belgium. The order has been placed by Aspiravi NV and Limburg win(d)t.

RocTool triples its turnover in two years and unveils an investment plan to accelerate its growth
After 10 years of intensive R&D and nearly $20 million of investment, RocTool has begun selling its molding processes under license and has tripled its turnover in the space of two years, an increase of 4 Million, from $2 Million in 2010 to more than $6 Million in 2012.

Alpha Ventus, the first German offshore wind farm presents its results for 2012
The annual yield of Alpha Ventus exceeded expectations in 2012. During last year, Germany’s first offshore wind farm fed 267,8 gigawatt hours of power into the German power grid. At 15,3 per cent, the power yield is higher than the originally forecast value. The good yield trend also continued in the first quarter of 2013.
