AgustaWestland has been awarded a contract with a value of EUR 560 million

University of Dayton Research Institute has been awarded $270,000 in Ohio Third Frontier funds for research to design and test structures and materials for composite wind-turbine towers – fiberglass reinforced resin monoliths that will stand as much as 65 feet taller than the steel towers currently dotting wind farms around the world.

Biresin CR83 of Sika Deutschland GmbH has been approved by Germanischer Lloyd for use in wind turbines and is also suitable for marine and industrial applications. The new resin system is particularly suitable for the resin infusion process, due to its low viscosity, good wetting characteristics and variable pot life.
