Saudi Industrial Resins is a joint venture between speciality chemical company Ashland Inc. and private Saudi shareholders. The company is the leading supplier of unsaturated polyester resins and vinylester resins in the MENA region, with production on Saudi Arabia’s East and West coasts. SIR distributes a range of composite auxiliaries – including glass fibre, catalysts, and accelerators. It also distributes Ashland’s Derakane range, and sells some adhesive lines.
The technical association with Ashland gives access to leading-edge polyester and vinylester technologies, with an ability to customise to local conditions. SIR’s investments in composite testing facilities allow it to put its products through in-house mechanical and thermomechanical qualifications.
