Fencing
Fencing is a historic Olympic sport, which has been part of the Olympic program since the Athens Games in 1896, never to leave it again. Women entered
thefencing arena at the 1924 Games in Paris. Wheelchair fencing was included
in the first ever Paralympic Games in 1960.

WHEELCHAIR FENCING (fig.5)
Like its Olympic equivalent, wheelchair fencing is competed with foil, épée and sabre. Athletes are competing in a wheelchair in a special frame, firmly fastened to the floor. No special composite wheelchairs are found.
