Genesi is the name of the solution developed, engineered and realized at Breton in Castello di Godego for large scale additive manufacturing of thermoplastic materials. As the greatest example to demonstrate Breton’s affinity to the R&D of new ideas in the most technological and innovative market segments, Genesi was recently developed with Augmenta (a class leading company in the AI sector) thanks to the gained know-how in the 5-axis machining of composite materials and the knowledge of strategic partners in the thermoplastic extrusion field.

Genesi could print on a working surface of approximately 4000×10000 mm, with a maximum height of 2000 mm. Moreover, to obtain top-level mechanical properties and smooth surfaces it is aided by machine learning algorithms and advanced artificial intelligence systems.

Breton Spa and Northern Light Composites, an innovative startup that deals with sustainable composites for pleasure boating, start a new partnership together for the construction of the molds of the prototype of ecofoiler, the first recyclable foiling dinghy on the market.

Statement Gabriele Corletto, Breton Business Development Manager says:
“For a company like Breton, always inclined to R&D and with extremely high attention to process sustainability, it’s a pleasure to launch this partnership with nlcomp! Their desire to innovate and improve, combined with the passion they are putting into this project, are a perfect match for our solution in the extremely innovative and growing sector of “Large Additive Manufacturing”.

Ecofoiler is a 3,80 meters hull designed by Matteo Polli with the collaboration of foiling experts such as Matteo Ledri, already involved in three America’s Cup campaigns. The small boat will be built with nlcomp’s recyclable technology and will be equipped with an innovative system to retract the foil designed to ensure an easy return to land for sailors. Sergio Caramel, aeronautical engineer and skipper of Melges24 Arkanoè by Montura, is the project manager of the project which will be presented in these days at the Foiling Week to be held on Lake Garda from 1 to 4 July 2021.

Statement Fabio Bignolini, Northern Light Composites Chief Operating Officer says:
“We are really excited to work together with a truly innovative company like Breton; we visited their research center, which with over three hundred patents filed is truly an example for young companies like ours. We can’t wait to start to work to give life to the ecofoiler molds, which will be truly a unique product of its kind.”
