Vestas, named the world’s most sustainable energy company, accumulates orders, including for Ukraine
Vestas recently announced it had been named the most sustainable energy solutions company under the Corporate Knights 2025 Global 100 ranking for the fourth time in a row. Besides its successful sustainability strategy, the company receives many orders, including for Ukraine’s largest wind energy project.

For the fourth year in a row, Vestas retains its spot as the most sustainable energy solutions company according to the Corporate Knights 2025 Global 100 ranking. What is more, the company also remains the third most sustainable company across all sectors in the world. For 2025, Vestas plans to continue to execute on the ambitious goals described in its global sustainability strategy, i.e. decarbonise its operations and supply chain by 2030, work towards zero-waste wind turbines by 2040, strive to become the safest, most inclusive and socially responsible company in the energy industry and continue to lead the transition towards a world powered by sustainable energy.
Besides, Vestas receives many orders from different parts of the world, notably USA, Italy, South Africa, France, Denmark and Guatemala. The company also recently announced it had received a 384 MW order for the second phase of DTEK’s Tyligulska project in Ukraine. This order adds to the 114 MW Tyligulska I order which Vestas successfully commissioned in the spring of 2023. For this new order in Ukraine, Vestas will be supplying 64 wind turbines. It is in charge of the supply, delivery and commissioning of the turbines. Between them, the turbines delivered as part of the Tyligulska project will have a capacity of 498 MW, with a total of 83 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines in 6.0 MW operating mode: it is, therefore, the largest wind energy project in Ukraine.
Authorities in Denmark, Ukraine and EU bring strong support to the project. Moreover, it is backed by a financial guarantee from EIFO, the state-owned Export and Investment Fund of Denmark.
Delivery of the turbines should begin in the first quarter of 2025, and landing, with full commissioning of the turbines, is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Vestas will also provide service for both phases of the DTEK Tyligulska project through a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
