China Jushi plans to build a 400,000-ton-per-year zero-carbon glass fiber factory

China Jushi announced the plan to establish a new wholly-owned subsidiary Jushi Group Huai’an Co., Ltd. and build a zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base with an annual output of 400,000 tons of high-performance glass fiber.

In the meantime, the newly established Zhejiang Jushi New Energy (Huai’an) Co., Ltd. will build a 200 MW wind power generation supporting project. The total investment reaches 5.658 billion yuan (€ 740 million), of which 82 % is allocated to the new production lines and 18 % to the wind power generation plant.

The construction site of the glass fiber production base, as well as the supporting wind power generation project are located in Lianshui County, Huai’an City, Jiangsu province. The site selection of each wind power generation unit will be determined after entrusting a professional wind power company to conduct on-site monitoring of wind energy resources.

Project construction scale:
(1) High-performance glass fiber production site project with an annual output of 400,000 tons: four 100,000-ton reinforced glass fiber production lines will be built in phases.

(2) Supporting wind power generation project: a 110 kV step-up transformer station, 36 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 5.56 MW, the total installed capacity is 200 MW, and the annual on-grid electricity is 500 million kwh.

The construction period of this project, which has started in the first half of 2023, is 24 months.

This forward-looking and leading project is the first zero-carbon manufacturing base built by China Jushi. It complies with the country’s industrial policy requirements for the development of the glass fiber industry. After the project is implemented, it will help the company realize structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading, further develop the industrial layout, and improve the level of green manufacturing.
