Cobat Compositi, a new player in composites recycling

Since 1988, Cobat has been the Italian platform for the circular economy.

Cobat was created to make companies and public administration protagonists of sustainable development that benefits not only the environment, but also the entire national economic system.

Cobat aims to create a virtuous circle by reducing waste and generating new raw materials in a circular economy perspective.

Part of the Cobat platform, Cobat Compositi is a new national voluntary consortium for the correct collection, treatment and recovery of waste of composite materials consisting of glass and carbon fiber, both from end-of-life products and from production and processing waste.

It’s customers are mainly represented by wind farms, shipyards, ports and airports, automotive industry, building and construction industry and anyone producing and/or processing waste in glass and carbon fiber.

The consortium is open to the participation of all the players in the supply chain, i.e. producers of glass and carbon fiber goods, operators, waste producers and final treatment and recovery plants.

The new voluntary consortium proposes itself as a partner of companies in the recovery of end-of-life products, processing and production waste made of composite material.

Through its partners, Cobat Compositi can perform on-site compaction aimed at the transport, treatment and recovery of composite products, in order to eliminate landfilling. It offers as well management services for other materials associated with the disposal of composites, environmental consultancy and training courses.
