Covestro joins hands with China’s Times New Materials and Mega P&C

German chemical group Covestro signed a tripartite memorandum of cooperation with Chinese blade manufacturer ZhuZhou Times New Materials Technology and Chinese blade coating manufacturer Mega P&C. The companies signed purchase agreements respectively, aiming to accelerate the industrialization of polyurethane wind blades.

Covestro is committed to establishing in-depth partnerships with leading companies in the value chain who are using innovative materials and technology that pave the way to reduce the cost of wind power”, said Su Zhiya, Chief Commercial Officer of Covestro. 

On the basis of the cooperation agreement, Times New Materials will purchase Covestro polyurethane resin in bulk for the manufacturing of wind blades and apply it on a large scale in commercial wind farm projects. 

Meanwhile, Mega P&C signed a long-term supply and purchase strategic agreement with Covestro to apply polyurethane coatings to protect wind blades more widely. 

The three parties have joined forces to take the path of green development of the wind energy industry. In the future, Covestro will continue to seek more partners to help the circular economy and create a sustainable future.
