Although the opening ceremony has been postponed due to the epidemic, the newly upgraded application R&D center will accelerate the progress of Hexion’s global localization strategy and inject new momentum into sustainable development, according to Hexion.

Hexion chairman and CEO Craig A. Rogerson said:

“The new application R&D center is another evidence of our continued commitment to strategic investment in R&D projects to increase innovation opportunities and stimulate growth. With the close cooperation of our partners, we will make full use of their skills and expertise in a world-class technological environment, ultimately benefiting our customers. This investment also demonstrates our continued commitment to integrate sustainability principles into our R&D, to meet customer demand for more environmentally friendly solutions.”

Craig A. Rogerson added:

“We hope for instance that the new application R&D center can consolidate our leading position in the Chinese wind energy application market by developing next-generation solutions based on Epikote and Epikure epoxy systems. In addition, the application R&D center also will support further innovations based on Epikote and Eponol resin systems for automotive applications, such as lightweight automotive composite components and other technologies, enabling customers to manufacture more efficiently, reduce air emissions without sacrificing performance, and support electric automotive production technology. Hexion has 24 R&D centers around the world and has unique advantages in the development of innovative coatings, composites and adhesive solutions.”
