Airbus Lifecycle Services Centre and HRC signed strategic cooperation agreement
Airbus Lifecycle Services Centre (ALSC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China’s composite solutions provider HRC, to launch China’s first aircraft disassembly and recycling project.
According to the agreement, the two parties will focus on the dismantling and recycling of disused aircraft bodies and the recycling of composite materials, carry out in-depth cooperation in technology and products for various aircraft models, and work together to promote the green and sustainable development of the aviation industry.
The strategic cooperation between the two parties will begin with the dismantling and recycling of the first aircraft. The A330-200 aircraft is owned by Hengqin Wing Aircraft Technology Co., Ltd. The disassembly work was jointly completed by the ALSC, Airbus China Research and Innovation Center (ACRI) and HRC, and the recycling of remaining body parts was carried out. The dismantled aircraft parts will be returned to the aviation industry for further use in accordance with relevant regulations to reduce aircraft operating costs.
HRC will be responsible for recycling aircraft carbon fibre composite materials and reusing resources to the greatest extent through patented green technology to form recycled carbon fibre composite materials and derivative products with low emissions, high physical properties, and high added value. Based on this, the two parties will also jointly explore the possibility of recycling more materials. This strategic cooperation is a positive attempt for the upstream and downstream of the aviation industry chain to work together to explore sustainable development.
