ÉireComposites and AVIC SACC to manufacture components for the Airbus A220
Ireland’s ÉireComposites and China’s AVIC SAC Commercial Aircraft Co. Ltd. (SACC) shared the co-signing of a significant new contract, which sees ÉireComposites manufacturing internal components for the Airbus A220.
“The company has extensive experience producing parts for flight and has refined its processes over the years to become an attractive partner for aerospace customers“, according to ÉireComposites.
ÉireComposites is a design, manufacturing and testing company based in Galway, Ireland, specialising in lightweight high performance composite materials and aerospace production and employing over 70 people locally. Parts from its factory have been flying on commercial aircraft since 2008.
AVIC SAC Commercial Aircraft Co. Ltd. designs, tests, manufactures and distributes aeroplanes. The company mainly produces civilian aeroplanes, commercial aircrafts and related components.
ÉireComposites CEO Tomás Flanagan commented: “The new contract with SACC is a testament to our team and their capabilities; it will boost the company and the local area greatly over the coming years, furthering Ireland’s impact on the civil aviation sector.”
This new contract comes off the back of recent additions to ÉireComposites’ work with Spirit AeroSystems, a leader in the manufacture of aerostructures for commercial aeroplanes, defence platforms and business or regional jets.
