> Deutsche Version am Ende der Seite verfügbar

JEC Forum DACH‘s primary goal is to promote the DACH region’s dynamic composites ecosystem. Besides an extensive program of business meetings and conferences, innovation will have a special place in Augsburg from November 29 to 30, 2022 as attendees will have the opportunity to witness the JEC Composites Startup Booster and the AVK Awards. Winners of both competitions will be announced during a dedicated ceremony at 5:30 pm on November 29th.

Second edition of the Startup Booster competition at JEC Forum DACH

It is the second time that JEC Forum DACH hosts a dedicated edition of the JEC Composites Startup Booster inviting all entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups and academic spinoffs building innovative composite and advanced materials projects that are based in Germany, Austria or Switzerland (the DACH region) to participate.
Among the many applications received, 5 finalists have been designated: they will be pitching their projects at the Forum on Tuesday, November 29, 2023 at 12.15 pm at Messe Augsburg.

BioWerkz
Closing the Loops

nb.ieb.kit.edu
BioWerkz is founded on three pillars of resource efficiency, circular economy, and renewability to address the need for development of alternative materials for construction and furniture industries to tackle their impacts on climate change. At BioWerkz a new class of bio-based, resource-efficient, and CO2-negative material called “NEWood” is developed using only wood waste and agricultural waste bound using fungal mycelium; the root network of mushrooms as a natural binder without the need for any synthetic binders.

Bufo Technology – HARDCORK
High-Performance Biobased Composite – Superior by nature

hardcork.com
Bufo Technology has developed the high-performance composite material HARDCORK® made from cork, fibers and a thermosetting matrix. The recipe can be set completely biobased, that leads to a very good CO2 balance! HARDCORK® can be manufactured as a core material, sandwich panel or complex molded part.

Cavicore
Water soluble salt cores for the production of hollow carbon fiber parts

cavicore.de
CAVICORE produces ready-to-use water soluble cores for the realization of hollow composite parts. Our “lost cores” have the advantage of being temperature-resistant, stable as well as eco-friendly and recyclable, as they consist of pure salts without binders. There is no need for expensive tools, the cores are manufactured mechanically.

Composite Recycling
Closing the loop on Composite Materials

composite-recycling.ch
Composite Recycling has developed a highly energy efficient and sustainable process to separate the resin from the fibres. With the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, the team has designed a post-treatment to clean the fibres and make them reusable in new composites, closing the loop.

Microwave Solutions GmbH
Imagineering a sustainable future

microwavesolutions.ch
Agile and modular microwave plasma and selective depolymerization technology for molecular recycling, fiber recovery and nanomaterial creation.

Out of the 5 finalists, 1 winner will be selected by our jury of professionnals:
• Johannes BORN, R&T Project Leader for Additive Manufacturing of Polymers & Composites, AIRBUS Operations
• Willem BULTHUIS, CEO, Corporate Ventures Advisory
• Klaus DRECHSLER, Professor & Director, TUM – Institute for Carbon Composites
• Inga GRIEGER, Business Development Manager, BMW i Ventures
• Ulrike TAGSCHERER, Chief Innovation Officer, KUKA
