This publication provides insights into the key challenges facing the composites industry today to develop new technologies, modernize, expand, innovate, create new applications and grow profitably, while also addressing the need for using more environmentally friendly, sustainable and recyclable materials. Welcome to the challenging world of composites. With its origins in the 1940s, the early glass reinforced plastic materials have now become part of a much bigger and sophisticated global composites industry, which over the last 75 years has seen the development of new raw materials, production processes and design engineering capabilities which have enabled the use of composites materials in applications never thought possible.

This new JEC Group publication, Resin Infusion Technology, written by Jorge Nasseh, covers practical issues associated with Resin infusion processing in Composites.

The book gives details about material selection for vacuum-assisted composites construction, the physics and history of the process, computer simulation and infusion strategies, permeability testing and calculation.

In this book, composite students, engineers and scientists will find practical and technical information about the Resin Infusion Process to build extremely quality parts in advanced composite materials.

The first edition of this volume in English is preceded by the preface of Owens Corning Composites Business President, Marcio Sandri (Toledo, Ohio, U.S).

The book was first written in Brazilian Portuguese and JEC Group, in partnership with Owens Corning, is launching for the first time an exclusive version in English of “Resin Infusion Technology”.

About the author

Jorge Nasseh, CEO of Barracuda Group (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is launching the first edition of “Resin Infusion Technology” (Processo de Infusão a Vácuo em Composites). As the recipient of numerous international scientific awards and the author of several books in the field of composite engineering, the author draws on an extensive technical background, combined with insight into the practical issues associated with state-of-the-art resin infusion processes.

Jorge Nasseh specifies, the details of material selection for vacuum-assisted composite construction, the physics and history of the process, computer simulation and infusion strategies, permeability testing and calculation.
